Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers in the design process.
  • A portfolio or work samples showcasing UX design work, highlighting multiple projects with experience crafting usable digital interfaces.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in conversational design, user interfaces, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.
  • Experience in applying Interaction Design (IxD) to solve product challenges.
  • Ability to frame design problems, influence stakeholders, and explore multiple design directions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • A passion for user interfaces.

As a Staff UX Designer, you will work to build a Google Assistant experience that can be an alternative to typed input. In this role, you will support users and build an excellent experience in app navigation, dictation, and issuing queries/commands.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and engage in design critiques/user research and partner with cross-functional teams to advocate for and produce impactful product solutions.
  • Define and design models, journeys, and system-level user interfaces.
  • Identify and advocate for solutions that solve user needs.
  • Deliver UX solutions that measurably improve how people engage with Google Assistant and lead a creative design team to collaborate and experiment.
  • Produce artifacts and support UX researchers in conducting formative and evaluative studies. Partner with Engineering and Product throughout the design and product definition process.
