Aarhus University, Health, Department of Clinical Medicine, Department of Clinical Epidemiology invites applications for a position as Professor in the field of Kidney Disease Epidemiology as per 1. September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is 7,4 hours pr. week (20%) and for a 5-year period.
As a professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of what is probably the largest health science research department in Denmark. Our clinical research covers all the medical specialities and takes place in close collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. We have approx. 30,000 square metres of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and also advanced scanners at our disposal. The department has overall responsibility for the Master's degree programs in medicine and in molecular medicine. At the department we are approx. 425 academic employees and the same number of PhD students cooperating across disciplines.
The Department of Clinical Epidemiology is a research department at Aarhus University Hospital within the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. Researchers in the Department use advanced epidemiological methods to study the prognosis of patient populations and are engaged in research, counselling, and improving the quality of care and treatment offered to patients. A large number of projects in the department are carried out in cooperation with Danish and international collaborators.
The department publishes approx. 200 international papers per year. The department has about 70 employees, including 5 fulltime professors, and 4 part-time professors, 25 biostatisticians, administrative staff and about 30 PhD students. The department has a comprehensive international network.
