Role/Position Overview:
CITI is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of ‘Application Support Senior Manager' within our global support team located in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the support team to provide best-in-class service for the Delta 1 and Derivatives business. The role presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join a growing business area; Delta 1 & Derivatives are central to Citi’s Equities expansion plans.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Manages one or more apps support teams.
  • Provides technical oversight across systems and applications; leverage skills across multiple apps support areas.
  • Provide a holistic view of the production environment for both technology and business management, working closely as a trusted partner for senior business heads.
  • Provide guidance on feedreviews with development managers, ensuring outstanding issues are tracked to closure, particularly long-term strategic fixes.
  • Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution.
  • Consults with the primary clients of the application in conjunction with development managers in order to understand the strategic objectives of users.
  • Requires awareness of audit and compliance related issues.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Oracle SQL. (Able to build ad hoc SQL queries)
  • Prior experience with Solaris/Linux a plus with ability to navigate the system and core administration functions)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems/components
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • IT (spreadsheet/analytical/modeling skills)
  • Positive attitude and keen to learn.
  • Ability to work under stress and time constraints.


Skills:
  • UNIX (AIX/ Linux) environment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Databases - Oracle, Microsoft SQL
  • Perl/Python
  • Knowledge on Geneos ITRS monitoring would be an added advantage

Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience in a computer/business related discipline is desirable.

  • Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
  • Ability to plan and organize workload
  • Strong client facing skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant partners (Trading/MO, Development/Support)
