The HR Data Transformation Workday ETL Data Warehousing Subject Matter Expert Applications Development Tech Lead is responsible for directing, guiding and coordinating the day-to-day execution of the cutting edge, state of the art HR Data Transformation program architecture function in one or more major functional areas, managing the delivery of architecture services to assigned development portfolios and their customers with focus on both strategic alignment of business and technology architectures and tactical delivery of architectural design services in the context of the program initiatives, programs and projects.
This is a senior position within the Global Functions Technology organization, and it is responsible for the architecture, strategy and execution of the HR Data Transformation program, to enable Human Resources to effectively analyze ever growing amounts of structured and unstructured data in order to answer important business questions regarding workforce productivity, the impact of training programs on enterprise performance, predictors of workforce attrition, how to identify potential leaders, etc. - just to give a few examples of value add benefits predictive HR analytics can bring. Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing the development and architecture of a portfolio of solutions, centralized data services and common technology frameworks within the corporate-wide program. Candidate will supervise a team of architects and engineers in multiple locations across the globe, responsible for the identification and design of suitable technology components, evaluate and recommend secure, scalable and reliable technologies, propose cost-effective solutions for meeting business and operational needs and minimize system’s development, operational and maintenance overhead incurred to business by engineering and implementing suitable platform architecture.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Experience in transforming Workday Standard interfaces into a Global data warehouse is a must have requirement for this position
  • In close coordination with the application portfolio managers, development and implementation of a practical , integrated, end-to-end strategic architecture vision for the program, including target state architectures and associated roadmaps
  • Development and implementation of a technology roadmap execution strategy for assigned GFTS application portfolios, in accordance with GFTS technology strategy
  • Development and implementation of a data roadmap execution strategy for the program, in accordance with the overall GFTS data strategy
  • Identification and execution of the appropriate architecture engagement model for the programs and projects, based on a thorough assessment of specific architectural impacts and requirements and optimally leveraging business, technical and data architecture shared services
  • Maximizing portfolio compliance with enterprise and GFTS architecture principles, best practices and standards, and ensuring ongoing alignment with GFTS technology and application portfolio strategies and roadmaps
  • Maximizing technology reuse within assigned GFTS application portfolios through leveraging of existing services, frameworks and components and development of new reusable services, frameworks and components where appropriate
  • Ensuring ongoing quality of architecture-related application metadata in CSI for assigned portfolios, including application technology stacks, application portfolio management data and application dependencies
  • Initial point of contact for architecture and technology-related matters initiated within assigned GFTS portfolios (e.g. POCs, systemic production issues, assistance with architecture tools, requests for assistance from other technology organizations, inquiries concerning standards, guidelines, or best practices, etc.)
  • Coordination point for externally initiated architecture and technology-related matters related to assigned GFTS portfolios (e.g. infrastructure optimization activities, cross-portfolio information requests, tech mandatory activity support, etc.)
  • Review current state of HR data processes, involved parties & tech infrastructure.
  • Align required capabilities across distinct audiences of user populations
  • Establish an all-encompassing domain-wide Data Model anchored to Enterprise data standards, serving as a foundation for all data processing, entitlement based control, and consumption needs.
  • Ascertain required platform & tool capabilities which operate over the common data language and enhance the current infrastructure dramatically to enable faster analytics, reduce manual processes and exercise stronger control

Technical Skills

  • 10+ years of technology management and leadership experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on systems architecture experience in a complex, multi-vendor systems environment.
  • Solid understanding of systems, business, data, and technical architecture disciplines, including exposure to such key methodologies and approaches as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM), data/information modeling, and high-availability/high-performance systems design.
  • Ability to establish an appropriate business-aligned strategic architecture vision for a major functional area, avoiding undue focus on incremental legacy system improvements and introducing and driving transformational changes where appropriate.
  • Strong familiarity with both traditional and agile software development lifecycles.

Non Technical Skills
  • Ability to direct the day-to-day work of a small team of senior architects.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with business, operations, and technology partners at all levels of the organization.
  • A broad understanding of the Human Resources function is a plus, including business and regulatory drivers, methodologies, processes, products, etc. In the absence of Human Resources experience, candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to rapidly ramp up in new business areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written business and technical communication skills.
  • A motivated, self-directed, highly proactive attitude and approach.

Education:
  • Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
