Key Responsibilities
Responsible for firm-wide Data Quality Programs
Partner with Citi’s network of Data Governance Officers across the businesses and functions for data governance and data quality topics
Drive Citi Data Management Policy (CDMP) adherence across Citi in an efficient and effective manner
Lead a global team of data governance professionals who drive data management discipline for the enterprise
Provide subject matter expertise on industry best practices across Citi
Research, purchase and implement industry practice standards and applications
Represent the CDO with Senior Management and Regulators and support the CDO’s data related regulatory interactions and deliverables
Monitor and enforce data policies, procedures and standards. Identify gaps in compliance and work with data owners/custodians to put plans in place to identified gaps
As a member of the CDO Leadership team, jointly responsible for the framework and controls for defining, managing, measuring and improving end to end data governance across the firm
Monitor and drive Corporate and Regulatory commitments to timely completion
Manage dependencies across related programs and initiatives
Act as a change agent and collaborator, partnering with Businesses, Global Functions, and the CDO team to establish enterprise wide data governance programs


Bachelor's degree in a Business, Finance or IT discipline or equivalent experience
12+ years’ experience in IT, governance and data related processes, developing complex, cross business change strategies with a proven track record of execution
12+ years’ experience in the development of data governance principles, policies, processes, practices and standards.
12+ years of practical operational management and/or business management experience preferred
Proven experience managing experienced professionals
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening) required, ability to synthesize key messages and story tell.
Solid grasp of executive level business decision making processes and the data and tools that feed into it
Track record of developing Enterprise level data strategies and scalable process designs consistent with industry practices
Experience developing completely new, well controlled, business processes across multiple, differing businesses
Ability to apply influencing and relationship management skills to generate productive, and inclusive, team dynamics across a matrixed organization
Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise wide projects and budgets
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in making business decisions, especially when leading teams where tradeoffs must be made and buy-in from key stakeholders must be achieved
Ability to work independently, take personal initiative, and easily adapt to an evolving environment. Ability to work effectively with project teams/leaders across all functional areas and levels.
Ability to see the "big picture" without losing attention to detail. Strong business leadership, influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel and Visio Strong attention to detail and willingness to "roll up sleeves"
Strong analytical skills required, experience with budgets and financial analysis preferred
Program/project management using a structured methodology to successfully track, plan, monitor and report on concurrent, multiple projects
Process reengineering and process mapping preferred
Change management experience preferred
Based upon needs of business, some travel will be required
