Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.
Candidates should have successfully demonstrated analytical and mathematical modeling skills to solve complex control, diagnostic and/or software system problems and the ability to work at the implementation level.
This position in the Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) organization may be part of the Engineering Development Program at Pratt & Whitney. The Engineering Development Program, or EDP, is a multiyear program for new College hires that has been implemented to: 1) accelerate technical capability through substantive work rotations focused in specific disciplines; and 2) connect EDP participants with a network of technical resources & engineering experts. The EDP offers new employees the opportunity to rotate through assignments in the organization that provide focused classroom training & technical work experiences. Every new Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) organization employee hired may be slated to participate in the Engineering Development Program.
- MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer or Software Engineering or Computer Science with formal coursework in such areas as control theory, systems modeling, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. Candidates with relevant experience, and candidates with co-op or intern experience are preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.

- Dynamic System Modeling (actuators, sensors, propulsion system)
- Dynamic Stability Analysis
- Statistical Data Analysis / Signal Processing

- System Simulation
