Pratt & Whitney Controllers Group has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Accounting Co-op starting in May 2019. This position is a 6 month, full time (40 hours) position, with occasional overtime possible during closing. Co-op assignments may be extended for a total of 12 months. Manufacturing Accounting’s mission is to support world-class financial performance for Manufacturing Operations through excellence in cost reporting, inventory reporting, labor accounting, and accounting controls.
The Co-op responsibilities will include:
Closing Responsibilities Prepare and book journal entries in SAP and HFM Analyze account variances
Prepare account reconciliations
Provide support for Manufacturing
Perform Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) and MMAS (Material Management Accounting System) controls testing
Provide support for on-going internal, external and US Government audits
Assist in the annual Manufacturing Operations Hard review Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly Manufacturing Accounting closing package
Create and distribute monthly Engine Output Report and Manufacturing Metrics Package Weekly In-Transit reporting to identify aged inventory not received Presenting Present results at monthly Manufacturing Accounting closing meeting to senior management Paymaster Duties Distribute weekly checks Assist in the resolution of employee paycheck issues
This experience will also provide opportunities to:
- Develop hands on experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Manager (“HFM”)
- Enhance presentation skills
- Network with professionals in our organization and across UTC
- Eligible Co-ops will have the opportunity to apply to the UTC Financial Leadership Program (“FLP”)
Experience / Qualifications:
Excellent MS Office Skills (Excel, Word and Access)
Education: Accounting and Finance Majors Interested candidates should be at least juniors, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
